1959: Performed and marched at various parades at Indiana University, the Power and Light Company, and French Lick, Indiana, where they took fourth place

1960: Initiated the creation of the first Decatur cadet band composed of junior high school students under the direction of Mr. Jerry Holeman

1961: Purchased new uniforms through various student fundraisers including car washes and candy sells
